Brief History

With the introduction of 24 pilot central schools in Bhutan by the People's Democratic Party (PDP) government, the school was constructed  at Wangbama village under Geney Gewog, Thimphu. It was identified as one of the Central Schools and the only HSS  under the Dzongkhag. The school is located 29 kms away from the Thimphu City. To reach the school, one has to take Thimphu-Phuentsholing Hihgway till Charkilo, 4kms before  reaching Chuzom (Thimphu-Paro confluence). From Charkilo, we must take a left turn taking the Geneykha farm road from the point where there is an Elehant head rock and Chorten. The school was formally launched on 28th April 2015 as GOI funded Central School.

The School has classes ranging from IX-XII with 100% boarding students. There are two classroom buildings of 12 classrooms each, one academic block spacing offices, computer lab, science labs, library, conference hall, and staff room.   For students residential purposes, there are two hostels both for girls and boys,  accommodating approximately 160 students in each hostels.
